Laidback Weekends

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Laidback Luke has become a house-hold name when it comes to club floor killers. In fact I can’t personally say one night that I didn’t spin a LL record or remix.. His tracks just keep getting more deep and more energetic. I’ve noticed that alot of his work so far in 2010, and some late 09 work has been taking on a trace sound. Luke has also been working on tracks from trance producers like Tiesto and Ferry Corsten. His latest remix is a re-work of Tiestos ‘Flight 643′ and I’m feeling this record. I’ve also stumbled upon a new remix of Lenny Kravitz’s ‘Are you gonna go my way” expect this one on the club floor this spring.

Top10

Well it’s no secret that 2010 has already begun and new tunes have been coming in since the ball dropped. There are alot of Top 10 lists around the blog’verse, but not many (that I saw at least) showcased potential dance floor killers, rather they showcase the top tracks or artists of the year. Well here at the83’s we don’t live in the past, we like to look forward.

So I thought up a Top 10 list (two Top 5’s really) of potential top notch artists of this comign year, some have already made it and some are no doubt going to make an impact. The first part of this list will showcase the Top 5 House acts IMO.

Next up is my Top 5 Electro acts, so stay tuned… sWaZy out…

Top 5 of 2010: House

ImanoS / Danyo Wallem: These cats are all up and coming producers who have been wowing my ears for a couple months now. First up Imanos, who hails from The great white north and has been getting the nod of approval from names like Bob Sinclar, Alex Gaudino, D.O.N.S., Thomas Gold, Kid Massive, Stonebridge, Peter Gelderblom, Norman Doray, Tristan Garner. Next we have my favorite blogging producer Danyo Wallem, who is very much new to the game but his music doesnt show any evidence of that. Hitting the scene with amazing remixes of Riverside and I-Yaz’s ‘Replay’ he has been making a name for himself.

Dirty South Vs. Sebastian Ingrosso – We Are Kidsos (ImanoS Bootleg)

Iyaz – Replay (Danyo Wallem Remix)

The Swedish House Mafia: Laidback Luke / Steve Angello / Ingrosso / Axwell: These guys have definitely made a household name for themselves, with hits like Show Me Love, Leave the World Behind among many many other hits. I listed them together to make the cut, but they easily could have made up a list on their own since they all have their own unique style and all do their own thing. I’d say out of the whole Mafia, Steve Angello and Laidback  Luke will be the leaders this year as they both have been doign overtime in their production and touring.

Wolfgang Gartner vs. La Roux – Yin For The Kill (Steve Angello & Dave Spoon Bootleg)

Avicii: I don’t know much about this guy, but from what I do know about him – he makes huge dance floor killers. I started seeing tracks from him in the summer of 2009 and I seem to find a new track by him every other week. Each one seems unique in its sound and build up, I suggest you scope out some of his material.

The Good Guys – Spotlight feat. Tesz Millan (Avicii Rising Star Mix)

Ralvero: Another name that I can’t speak too much on, but when it comes to Dutch house that just makes you wanna take off Ur dancing shoes and put on your ‘let’s go nuts & party’ sneakers – Ralvero is your man. The first song I heard of his was a remix of  ‘On The Run’ by De Bos – I couldn’t even find the original only his remix. It’s got huge bass and a sound that rivals Crunk Music.

Crooked out Tiga

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Tiga is definatly putting Montreal on the electronica map and has been doing so for a couple years now. The newest piece is a remix od ‘Beep Beep Beep’ done by Italian duo Crookers that I got off my friends the Trashbag Kids. It’s got that Crookers sound, you know that electronic-fast paced snyth that gets your body moving without you even knowing it… definatly one of my favorite Crookers remixes to date… The second cut I got lines up is a remix of Martin Solvigs – Boys & Girlsdone by Swedish powerhouse dj/producer Laidback Luke which offers a soild drum and bassline and is definatly worth a peep. Lastly I got a re-work of San Francisco done by fast growing sensation PH Electro

Tiga – Beep Beep Beep (Crookers Remix)

Martin Solveig feat Dragonette – Boys & Girls (Laidback Luke Remix)

BONUS:

PH Electro – San Francisco (Original)

Well well well, i’ve been waiting to get my hands on some ill shit before I posted this week… good things come to those who wait… Foamo has been posted by my fellow 83 brothers, so it should come as no surprise that he has dropped another dumb track, and I say that with love. Laidback Luke & Diplo recently put out a banger called Hey!, with remixes out by numerous names, this is the one that stayed with me. I also posted some other soon to be club floor killers … enjoy…sWaZy out..

Leave Me Bloody

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Oh Hi….

Got a serious case of the Mondays? sWaZy does… And I’ve got something to help you get your nightly vibe on. First up is a stellar remix by the Bloody Beetroots of the song Leave me Amor by Ryskee. It’s not their usual up tempo, punch your neighbor and boot your kitten banger that the Bloody Beetroots have become known for… But that doesn’t mean it isn’t stellar none-the-less. It smacks of the 80’s…And I Like it…

Ryskee feat. Leslie Ming – Leave Me Amor (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)

Notable mentions:

U2 – I’ll Go Crazy (Dirty South Mix)

Steve Angello & Laidback Luke feat. Robin S – Show Me Love (Subway 6 Remix)

Probably the worst picture of Beyonce I could find ! Although I’m glad to see that some producers are digging deep for older pop tracks to remix, I never thought this jam was ever going to become an electronic hit.
Props to Laidback Luke on this one !
