Deathfaceis Johnny Love’s current new project and it’s dangerously more angry, raw, bad, and without borders. As you all may know Guns N’ Bombs is long gone, dead, kaput, buried, and layed to rest in the blog house tombs. According to certain blog speculation, Deathface is pretty awful live… As one reader posted : ” I Saw Johnny perform as Deathface in Chicago a month ago and the crowd just didn’t seem to know how to react to the music. It’s like he’s trying to mix metal, dubstep, and d’n’b.” The Buraka remix seems to be the black sheep compared to all the other tracks… Here at the83s, we always try to bring you the best… You be the judge.
Well, you can’t say we were not ahead of the curve on that one. Little Boots is becoming quite the pop sensation lately. Her new release “Remedy” is doing very well and here is a fun remix done by Style of Eye. It’s a much more dramatic and intense version of the poppish song.
Our buddies Alan and Justin from NUJAX just sent us these hot new tracks and asked if we could help them out by promoting them. It’s always a pleasure for us to help out local artist, plus we love these guys! Keep up the good work !
Having built a strong local following Nujax is beginning to release a debut set of tracks. Drawing from 90’s house, fidget and techno for inspiration each track is a banger that will have a crowd singing along and begging for more. Currently Nujax is preparing their first EP and planning a North American tour. More to follow on that soon.
TMDP take pride in the improvisational element of performing live and turn the stage into their private studio. To date, they’ve quickly become recognized as one of Toronto’s hardest working electronic acts and were recently voted #13 of 25 on Now Magazine Watch List for 2009. Spring 2009 will see TMDP embark on a nationwide tour of Canada as they prepare for world domination. These guys are too good not to blow up.

Who knew that Oklahoma City was busy releasing the biggest bangers? Kids at the Bar have been busy remixing and chopping and tweaking to craft tunes that sound as wide as the ever expansive midwest. I like everything they have done, so here is a taste of a few of their remixes from some of our favorite bands here.
Nujax (production duo comprised of Kid Legit & Girl Problems) have been making waves Montreal’s nightlife scene ever since the success of their award winning club night ‘Sextape Fridays’ at the Blue Dog Motel playing alongside international talents like Cobra Krames, DJ Grandtheft, DJ A-Rock, Danny Daze and My!Gay!Husband!.

Well well well…new discoveries are always fun. Thanks to a fellow friend of the83s.com who’s always on the look-out for new artists, we stumbled upon Miss Valery Gore. Her debut album “Avalanche to Wandering Bear”, released on “Do Right! Music” label is filled with catchy beats, a silky smooth voice and a heavy dose of danceable rhythms. Her label recently created a remix contest of her first single “Shoes of Glass” and Kidstreet won the contest. Here it is:
Here at the83s.com we don’t sleep on local talent. That’s why when Montreal’s own NROTB (New Ravers On The Block) recently sent us their new tracks, we didn’t hesitate to post them right away. You might of caught NROTB last Friday at Salon Officiel for their EP release party but if you didn’t, don’t sweat it, these guys are just breaking ground and should be making a lot of noise this summer on the Montreal Electro seen ! Show these guys some love on their MySpace page.
Last week while I was on vacation, SHOOPS sent us they’re new single and asked us to distribute exclusively the new track. Unfortunately, dew to Cuba’s lack of technology, I was unable to post this. Sorry boys ! That being said, they are prepping a pre-release of they’re track “Disco Show” featuring Mic Life (who is currently in jail). They will have the track up for grabs on iTunes, Napster, and Amazonmp3 for a 1 month period in collaboration with his campaign “Free Mic Life”, as it is an album track for “Love/Lust”. (release date soon. to be announced via twitter or myspace)
