Laidback Weekends

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Laidback Luke has become a house-hold name when it comes to club floor killers. In fact I can’t personally say one night that I didn’t spin a LL record or remix.. His tracks just keep getting more deep and more energetic. I’ve noticed that alot of his work so far in 2010, and some late 09 work has been taking on a trace sound. Luke has also been working on tracks from trance producers like Tiesto and Ferry Corsten. His latest remix is a re-work of Tiestos ‘Flight 643′ and I’m feeling this record. I’ve also stumbled upon a new remix of Lenny Kravitz’s ‘Are you gonna go my way” expect this one on the club floor this spring.

Top10

Well it’s no secret that 2010 has already begun and new tunes have been coming in since the ball dropped. There are alot of Top 10 lists around the blog’verse, but not many (that I saw at least) showcased potential dance floor killers, rather they showcase the top tracks or artists of the year. Well here at the83’s we don’t live in the past, we like to look forward.

So I thought up a Top 10 list (two Top 5’s really) of potential top notch artists of this comign year, some have already made it and some are no doubt going to make an impact. The first part of this list will showcase the Top 5 House acts IMO.

Next up is my Top 5 Electro acts, so stay tuned… sWaZy out…

Top 5 of 2010: House

ImanoS / Danyo Wallem: These cats are all up and coming producers who have been wowing my ears for a couple months now. First up Imanos, who hails from The great white north and has been getting the nod of approval from names like Bob Sinclar, Alex Gaudino, D.O.N.S., Thomas Gold, Kid Massive, Stonebridge, Peter Gelderblom, Norman Doray, Tristan Garner. Next we have my favorite blogging producer Danyo Wallem, who is very much new to the game but his music doesnt show any evidence of that. Hitting the scene with amazing remixes of Riverside and I-Yaz’s ‘Replay’ he has been making a name for himself.

Dirty South Vs. Sebastian Ingrosso – We Are Kidsos (ImanoS Bootleg)

Iyaz – Replay (Danyo Wallem Remix)

The Swedish House Mafia: Laidback Luke / Steve Angello / Ingrosso / Axwell: These guys have definitely made a household name for themselves, with hits like Show Me Love, Leave the World Behind among many many other hits. I listed them together to make the cut, but they easily could have made up a list on their own since they all have their own unique style and all do their own thing. I’d say out of the whole Mafia, Steve Angello and Laidback  Luke will be the leaders this year as they both have been doign overtime in their production and touring.

Bob_Sinclar_-_Gym_Tonic_(Laidback_Luke_Bootleg)

Wolfgang Gartner vs. La Roux – Yin For The Kill (Steve Angello & Dave Spoon Bootleg)

Avicii: I don’t know much about this guy, but from what I do know about him – he makes huge dance floor killers. I started seeing tracks from him in the summer of 2009 and I seem to find a new track by him every other week. Each one seems unique in its sound and build up, I suggest you scope out some of his material.

The Good Guys – Spotlight feat. Tesz Millan (Avicii Rising Star Mix)

Ralvero: Another name that I can’t speak too much on, but when it comes to Dutch house that just makes you wanna take off Ur dancing shoes and put on your ‘let’s go nuts & party’ sneakers – Ralvero is your man. The first song I heard of his was a remix of  ‘On The Run’ by De Bos – I couldn’t even find the original only his remix. It’s got huge bass and a sound that rivals Crunk Music.

21

After what may have seemed like an eternity of holiday vacation, all is goign back to normal as we head back to work / school / our normal everyday slacking. It’s now 2010 and as the saying goes, the ’show must go on’.

I found the last half of 2009 pretty slow for big releases in the arena of house & electro, minus the really hot track here and there. However 2009 was a huge year for EDM (electronic dance music) overall. It was the year that it broke out into the mainstream minds of alot of people who prior to last year wouldnt give any hosue or electro the time of day.

2010 could mark a great crossover year as EDM grows and grows, here’s some nice sounding tracks that i’ve been compiling as of late and my latest bootleg dubbed “Reveal Your Heart’ (a remix of Axwell’s Open Your Heart & East & Young’s epic single Reveal)…

Enjoy !

Bob Sinclar – Gym Tonic (Laidback Luke Bootleg) (ready to shed those holiday pounds, this track will have you bouncing without working out)

Axwell – I Found You (Danyo Wallem 2010 Remix) (Dope rework from my favorite homeboy from overseas Danyo Wallem, he really captures the synth sounds frmo the original and adds alot of his over unique flavor, a must download)

Shaggy ft.Gary Nesta Pine – Fly High (Resource Remix)

Nick & Danny Chatelain – Baila Baila (Ralvero & Bassjackers Remix)

and finally we have my remix, which thanks to some support has been well recieved… feel free to post it on your blogs or send to your friends

MOvember Beatz

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Well this month has been a bit dry on the solid releases… However, I do have a couple new joints to showcase, as well as a preview from my hommie ImanoS.

First up, ill lay out the new tunes that I have lined up, first is a new remix by Afrojack of Honorable & Pitbull’s collab with the Jump Smokers… its prolly one of my favorite jams right now.. its called ‘ Now You See It ‘. After that is an array of other songs I had in my itunes.. Enjoy

Pitbull, Honorebel -- Now You See It feat. Jump Smokers (Original Mix)

Verano-Rhythm of the Night [PH Electro Remix]

Deadmau5 -- Strobe (nause Remix)

Tiesto -- Feel It (Tiesto’s Feel It On The Floor Dub Mix)

Now onto my buddy from out west, ImanoS. He has been making waves on the blog EDM scene, getting his remixes played by the likes of Alex Gaudino, Bob Sinclar, D.O.N.S and Norman Doray, and his newest work features Fred Lilla and is going to be a smash .. remember where you heard (or saw) it first:

…Deadmau5 & the ocarina of time

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Anyone born in the 80’s should definatly appreciate this tune from Torontonian Deadmau5. The intro of this one samples The Legend of Zelda’s theme (before it breaks down into one of deadmau5’s usual dope beats). I’ve had this one laying around for a bit but have been too busy with work and production to post it… Since It’s in my latest Dirrty Dancin’ Mix I thought id share it. One listen and you will understand why he has been opening his shows with this banger lately.

Next I thought I’d share my latest piece, it’s a mash-up of David Guetta & Akon’s smash ‘Sexy Bitch’. With so many remixes of this gem out on the net now, you might be asking why should I care… Well this one uses another producers beat, but keeps the essance of the original beat.. Take a look at the companion video I put together and you will hear what im saying…

Kanyeez & sWaZy …

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

An interesting video made by Kanye West & Spike Jonze. I suppose the meaning behind it is up for discussion and im not big on speculation but what I got from it was a man who has issues dealing with the amount of fame that he has recieved and his Ego. The song playing in the club is See you in my Nightmares (Rock-It! Scientists Refix) … I think this is a must see for anyone, like Kanye or not… he is a man behind the fame.

Kanye West -- See You in my Nightmares ft Lil Wayne (Rock-It! Scientists Refix)

—————————————————————————--

on the sWaZy side I just finished up a couple remixes this week, one of them is another Bootleg. I tapped into my club vibes for this one as I mashed Pitbull’s Calle Ocho & Fedde Le Grand’s Let Me Think About it … possibly a bit late since summer is dead & gone but better late than never.. Hope you enjoy
